I was born in Miami, Florida, and have been in the arts since the age of seven. I began very young as a fine artist and have classic training in many mediums. My interests then shifted to design, specifically Architecture, and I was part of the first graduating class from the Design & Architecture Senior High School in Miami, Florida in 1995.
I lived in NYC for twenty three years arriving in 1997 to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating with a BFA in Communication & Graphic Design. I’ve always had a passion for fashion photography from the nineties which led to a career behind the scenes in the fashion industry for eighteen years. Simultaneously, in 2008 I picked up the camera myself and began developing myself as a photographer. My background is diverse and ranges from creative direction & branding, editorial & advertising; reinforced with a strong knowledge of all the integral aspects of image making.
My work takes inspiration from classic black and white documentary photography. It reflects my interest in humanity, values, and culture with a highly empathetic point of view. Aesthetically bold, graphic and intentional with close attention to detail. It captures my distinct appreciation and care for the people and places I photograph and my hope is that the photographs not only resonate visually but also emotionally.
My focus is primarily on street/documentary/travel/portrait work and sometimes fashion. I’ve been photographing for fifteen years and my work has been published in THE KNOW printed edition. I am also consistently working on personal projects, including a new self published book project on my recent trips to Cuba.
I am now currently based out of Miami, Florida.
